Global Travel Manager Report 2020

Travel managers’ work was radically upended when COVID 19 hit.

To capture the new normal of business travel SAP Concur surveyed 800 travel managers in 8 markets. Below are some key highlights.

  • 96% say their companies were not fully prepared to manage travel during covid-19
  • 43% were not prepared to process the volume of refunds, receipts and unused tickets.
  • 38% were caught off guard needing to get travelers home within quarantine rules

Travel managers expect both near term and long term changes to how they manage travel, both on a daily basis as well in times of crisis. Changes to policy should reflect a recommitment to Duty of Care that will entail revising policies, including increased interest in pre-trip approval as well as rethinking how to ensure visibility into employee travel, regardless of where it is booked.
